ADMISSION CRITERIA

Admission of a candidate is subject to eligibility and priorities and policies laid down by the FGEI Directorate. No domicile certificates is required for admission to the college. Foreign students should apply through the Ministry of Education, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad, and submit "Equivalence Certificate" from the Ministry for the academic qualification attained by them in the country of their origin

a) Children of Residents of Cantonment
 
Proof regarding residence in Rawalpindi Cantt. i.e CNIC or any utility bill or Registry in the name of Father/Mother will be furnished or a residence certificate issued by Rawalpindi/Chaklala cantonment board
b) Children of Serving Armed Forces Personnel
  Services certificate from concerned Fmn/Unit etc will be furnished.
c) Children of Retd.Armed Forces personnel
 
Copy of Pension Book/Discharge documents will be furnished as a proof.
d) Children of Employees paid out of Defence Estimates
 
Certificate from the concerned office that they are being paid out of defence estimates (only those located at Rawalpindi) will be required.
e) Children of FGEI (C/G) Employees
 
Certificate to that effect will be provided by the head of office/institution in case the employee is serving at Rawalpindi station.
f) Admission in First(1st ) Year
 
Admission (Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, Science General Group and Computer Science Group) will be restricted to the candidates obtaining a Minimum of 60% marks in SSC Examination in the current year. Similarly minimum of 50% marks will be required to qualify as a Candidate for admission in Humanities Group.
g) Admission in Third (3rd ) year
 
Priority will be given to students passing F.A/F.Sc. from F.G.Sir Syed College Rawalpindi in the current year. Their admission will be made as per allocation of seats, category/quota. Students passing F.A/F.Sc. from other colleges will be considered for admission only against the seats available in their respective category after the Sirsyedians have been accommodated.
h)
Students who have not studied Maths at F.A/F.Sc. level will not be allowed to take any combination with Maths as a subject in B.A/B.Sc.
i)
Number of seats available in a category to which a candidate belongs and his merit therein according to the marks obtained by him or the basic considerations for admission.
j)
Candidate will provide character certificate issued by the head of the institution last attended. CONFIDENTIAL RECORD of the former students of the college determines their candidature for admission
k)
In addition to the normal Character Certificate, the Principal may, if he deems necessary, call of good behaviour, attendance, student’s reputation and his amenability to Discipline from the institution he last attended.
l)
Students who do not stand on merit for admission in the first shift may be considered for the second shift on the same form.
m)
Application is to be made on the prescribed form which is available from college office on payment and is to be submitted on or by the date notified by the Admission Committee, along with one Photostat copy of school/college leaving Certificate or marks sheet dulyattested by the Head Master/Principal of the institution from where he has passed his Matriculation Examination and one 1” x 1” photograph.
n) At the time of interview:

The candidate should come in college uniform and bring the following documents:-

 

a)

Army retired personnel should bring pension book/discharge certificate in original.

b)

Four 2” x 2” or passport size photos (Un-attested). The candidate’s name and father’s name should be written on the back of the photograph.

c)
One Photostat copy of School/College leaving certificate and two copies of marks sheet duly attested by the Head of institution from where he has passed the Examination.
d)
Migration Certificate, in original, in case the applicant has passed his SSC/HSSC examination from a Board other than the Federal Board, Islamabad.
e)
College leaving certificate, in original, if the candidate is joining the college under migration from another college.
f) Original Marks sheet at the time of interview for the verification of marks.
g)
Affidavit on stamp paper value of Rs.20/- duly signed by the Oath Commissioner as Annexure-“A”.
It is the responsibility of the Student to fulfil all requirements of the Board/University at the time of admission to this college.

 

Admission: General Instructions

a)
Acceptance of an application form does not necessarily mean acceptance of a Candidate for admission
b) In their own interest, candidates are advised to apply for admission
to other colleges as well
c) Admission form containing incorrect or false information shall stand rejected forthwith even after a candidate has paid admission fee.
d)
In case a candidate wishes to be considered for admission to more than one groups (Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, Science Gen./Humanities). He should submit a separate admission form for each group, on or before the stipulated date.
e)
The college does not admit students on Casual basis.
f) The college does not accept the case of students desiring migration from colleges in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
g)
The Principal reserves the right to refuse admission to any candidate without assigning any reason.
